This place is so good. The people here have to be some of the friendliest we have ever had at a restaurant. All while allowing you to enjoy your meal. They took time to make each customer feel special. It helps that the food was amazing. We enjoyed a variety of brunch items and each was spectacular. You can't go wrong at this place.

Went on a Sunday morning around 12, the wait for two people was around 25 mins. Got a pimento sandwich and a fruit salad. The sandwich was simple and nice. The staff is friendly, good vibes, good enough simple breakfast options, a bit tight space (good for max 4 people groups). A nice find overall.

What a gem of a place. I have to restrain myself from coming here everyday for their salted caramel latte (with homemade syrup!) and pimento breakfast sandwich. The staff is also amazing and incredibly welcoming and warm, they remember all of the Paulus Hook locals that frequent by. This place is so popular that there is almost always a wait on weekends, but sitting on their stoop / outdoor area surrounded by the beauty of brownstones is a great way to spend time before a scrumptious brunch! I can’t recommend this place enough!

One of the best brunch spots in jersey city! Whether you’re craving breakfast or lunch, I can’t recommend the grits special (changes regularly) and the chicken salad sandwich. The staff is always super friendly and I’m looking to my next visit

I had the pleasure of dining at this charming spot, and I simply had to rave about my experience. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality from the staff. Each time I have visited here the food is always delicious and fresh. The best avocado toast I have ever had. Thank you for a memorable visit I hope to visit again soon!

“SAM I AM” is eclectic and charming. Happily greeted by the Owner on a busy Saturday AM, this place IS Jersey City! Don’t forget to bring ur kid in stroller and cute dog ????

Super cute establishment. Just very small and cozy. The staff were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The food is so flavorful and fresh, absolutely delicious. We had the tomato soup with grilled cheese on fresh bread. The French toast and eggs with home fries and bacon. Everything was fab. Can’t wait to return

The food here was great! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon as a party of three. We were told the wait would be about twenty minutes, but the actual wait turned out to be about 45-50 minutes. When inside, we could tell why -- the store was pretty small with only 1-2 tables for parties more than two. I got the daily special sandwich, which was the caprese sandwich for that day. It was a little more sweet than I expected, but it was still delicious nonetheless. The coffee though was pretty mid, so I would recommend to skip the lattes. Would come again to try other menu items, but only in a party of 1-2.

8 years after a not so great visit, sam a.m. is now a weekend favorite spot. Almost every weekend, actually! Gregarious and welcoming staff - high energy personality forward - and week in, week out steadiness make this a Jersey City favorite. I usually get The Weekender: eggs any style, breakfast potatoes, sausage, and rye toast, which is more than enough to start any Saturday or Sunday. Ask for the jam on the side and definitely try the homemade hot sauce, which is very tasty. Also, don't overlook the soup of the day. The Jersey tomato basil soup is full of flavor, one of the best tomato soups I've ever had. Today, I tried the melon gazpacho with prosciutto, which was unique and excellent, perfect on a warm summer day. Word to the wise: since there is often a wait for a table, put yourself on the wait list and walk down the street to get a Prosecco while you wait for your name to be called. Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this place!! It's such a cute hole in the wall breakfast spot and it's not too pricey. I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes with some side bread and it was delicious. We also order a Cuban sandwich and some coffee. They were out of the one French toast dish. The food is not revolutionary or extravagant, it's very well done traditional breakfast. They also have a lot of sandwich and salads in addition to being a breakfast spot. In fact, I thought most of their items were non-breakfast. There was about an hour wait and no real waitlist which in addition to the food being very good but typical breakfast food is why I'm giving one less star. I also wish they had waffles on the menu or pancakes and am not sure why they don't. I would go back for sure!
